Cycle 2 of Battle Frontier brought in many recognized and familiar teams as well as a lot of new teams into the fray. This week, we will be looking at some of the teams that really stood out amongst the rest:

Rock Paper Slark:

Rock Paper Slark is a faction with it’s origins from the Wallower discord server. Originally formed in Silph Season 2, they quickly climbed every cycle until Silph Closed where they finished in by qualifying for Platinum Tier. Continuing the winning streak, they are one of the original 48 teams that started in Battle Frontier where they finished with the overall first place position, placing in NA Legendary Tier and qualified for Battler Frontier’s Worlds. They continue to remain in Legendary Tier following Cycle 2’s completion.

Rock Paper Slark is a tight knit faction with players from all across the world, not just one local area. They have a depth of players with decorated GBL front page and #1 appearances, and Play! Pokemon experience, and a long history in s6p3 grassroots tournaments. They look to continue with strong performances in the upcoming cycles of Battle Frontier.

Guerilla Garbodors:

Guerilla Garbodors is a team that hails from the EMEA region. A team that has been participating in team based pogo pvp since its inception, they are a team with a mix of German and Italian players representing their region with consistent high play performance. They finished as the Cycle 2 diamond winner and were a competitor in Silph Factions World Tournament. Continuing their dominance into Battle Frontier, they completed qualified for EMEA Open Playoffs as the overall #1 seed for the region.

They are a team filled with players that have extensive GBL and Play! Pokemon top level performances. Multiple #1 GBL players and repeated Top Cut Play! Pokemon showings as well. They are on the fast track for Top Tier placement and performance in Battle Frontier, and continued high level performance is definitely expected from them!

OPDC:

We finish this week’s spotlight article with a brand new team to Team based PvP. OPDC is a team of battlers representing the APAC region, specifically Japan. With their initial Battle Frontier, they have already made a statement by finishing in First place within APAC Open Pool 2 with a 4-1 finish, and securing the overall #5 seed for their entire region going into Playoffs. Wi

With a team filled with battlers who have collective high level achievements in GBL which includes #1 leaderboard performances as well as Silph Diamond, Emerald, and Worlds performances (before they formed OPDC), they are definitely a new team, but NOT an inexperienced one. They will look to continue to represent Japan and the entire APAC region in their upcoming Cycles with Battle Frontier.
