Hello Trainers,

As we are gearing up for the start of The Battle Frontier’s Second Cycle, we wanted to clarify the promotion / relegation structure for Cycle 2 going into Cycle 3. Because Cycle 1 was for the North American region, they are on a different schedule than the other regions.

As the North American Region is on a different tiering schedule than the other regions during Cycle 2, a separate page detailing the EMEA, APAC, and LATAM promotions for Cycle 2/3 will be released soon.

For Cycle 3,

Open Tier: The top two teams from each pool in the Open tier will be promoted to each tier from Ace through Legend, based on performance within each pool. This will equate to 14 teams total advancing to a playoff format for final tier placement determinations. There will be a secondary process to determine the final standings of the teams promoting out of Open for Cycle 3. Additional details regarding the playoff format will be announced in the coming weeks. No teams will be relegated from the Open tier.

Ace Tier: The top two teams by performance will be promoted to the Premier tier. No teams will be relegated from the Ace tier.

Premier Tier: The top two teams by performance will be promoted to the Expert tier. The bottom two teams by performance will be relegated to the Ace tier.

Expert Tier: The top two teams by performance will be promoted to the Elite tier. The bottom two teams by performance will be relegated to the Premier tier.

Elite Tier: The top two teams by performance will be promoted to the Champion tier. The bottom two teams by performance will be relegated to the Expert tier.

Champion Tier: The top two teams by performance will be promoted to the Legendary tier. The bottom two teams by performance will be relegated to the Elite tier.

Legendary Tier: The top two teams by performance will received recognition on the homepage, with special emphasis on the overall winners of the Legendary tier. The bottom two teams by performance will be relegated to the Champion tier.

Team performance will be determined first by Match Win-Loss record and then by overall Game Win-Loss record in the event of any ties. An additional process will be utilized in the event two teams have identical Win-Loss records for both Matches and Games.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we have spent the last few months preparing for Cycle 2.

Good luck and happy battling!
