Hello Trainers,

For the EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions, this will be the first Cycle that your regions will be participating in Battle Frontier. The process for seeding and promotion out of Open Tier will be the same as NA did in Cycle 1, but modified for each region’s respective sizes. We look forward to seeing you all compete and have a great Cycle 2.

Below, you will find the outline of how this will work:

EMEA

EMEA is currently comprised of 64 teams divided into 8 pools. All pools will compete in a 7 week long Round Robin format. The Top 4 teams of each pool will guarantee qualification for the playoffs. In addition, there will be 4 wild card spots. Wild card spots are determined by the 4 highest performing teams amongst all of the 8 pools which did not make the top 4 of their respective pool. This will be a total of 36 teams which will qualify for playoffs. Once playoffs are concluded, the 36 teams will be rank ordered by performance and divided into 4 tiers. (Legendary, Champion, Elite, and Expert), the remaining 28 teams will remain in Open Tier for Cycle 3. There will be remaining spaces per tier to accommodate for the allowed 1 time region transfer at the end of Cycle 2. Once the one time region transfers are settled, the teams will seed up in order of performance accordingly. If those spots are not filled with the region transfers, the remaining spots will be backfilled up from Open Tier, ranked by Open Tier performance. Details about the playoff structure will be announced mid cycle.

LATAM

LATAM is currently comprised of 38 teams divided into 5 pools. All pools will compete in a 7 week long Round Robin format. The Top 4 teams of each pool will guarantee qualification for the playoffs. In addition, there will be 4 wild card spots. Wild card spots are determined by the 4 highest performing teams amongst all of the 5 pools which did not make the top 4 of their respective pool. This will be a total of 24 teams which will qualify for playoffs. Once playoffs are concluded, the 24 teams will be rank ordered by performance and divided into 3 tiers of 8 teams each (Legendary, Champion, and Elite), the remaining 14 teams will remain in Open Tier for Cycle 3. There will be remaining spaces per tier to accommodate for the allowed 1 time region transfer at the end of Cycle 2. Once the one time region transfers are settled, the teams will seed up in order of performance accordingly. If those spots are not filled with the region transfers, the remaining spots will be backfilled up from Open Tier, ranked by Open Tier performance.. Details about the playoff structure will be announced mid cycle.

APAC

APAC is currently comprised of 34 teams divided into 6 pools. All pools will compete in a 5 week long Round Robin format. The Top 3 teams of each pool will guarantee qualification for the playoffs. There will be no wild card spots offered. This will be a total of 18 teams which will qualify for playoffs. Once playoffs are concluded, the 18 teams will be rank ordered by performance and divided into 2 tiers each (Legendary and Champion), the remaining 16 teams will remain in Open Tier for Cycle 3.
