Cycle 2 of Battle Frontier brought in many recognized and familiar teams as well as a lot of new teams into the fray. This week, we will be looking at some of the teams that really stood out amongst the rest:

Decidueye Dynasty Black:

Decidueye Dynasty Black is a veteran group in the Team PvP format, formed in Season 1 Cycle 3 of Silph Factions. Starting their journey with a lack of Show 6 Pick 3 experience, they had a hard time finding teams that would pick each of their members up. So, they formed their own group and decided to forge their own path together. Since their inception, they have promoted every single Cycle of Silph factions that they competed in. They joined Battle Frontier in Cycle 1 as one of the original 48 teams, and solidified a strong finish placing into NA Elite Tier. In Cycle 2 of BF, they tied for first place in Elite Tier and have secured promotion to Champion Tier for Cycle 3 with a 5-2 run.

In addition to the team’s collective continued success, each of their team members have proven themselves with decorated Go Battle League and P!P credentials under their belts now. Between Top Cut regional performances from members like KingOwlexander and Mountndewgong, or consistent leadberoard appearances from members like mattbeer and KPine (among just a few examples), we expect to see continued success from this team in the many Cycles to come.

Blazin Birds:

Blazin Birds is a PvP team from Brazil founded in late 2020 by the PokeTuber/Twitch Streamer PachoBlues and the 2022 LAIC Champion JWNaldo. Since its creation, the Blazin Birds was always a top performer amongst the Brazilian teams. While competing in Silph Factions, BB reached Diamond Tier in the LATAM Region, wishing to go even higher. They have kept that momentum going in Battle Frontier with a 7-0 finish for first place in LATAM Open Pool 3, and securing the #1 overall seed for LATAM going into the playoffs.

The team is composed mainly by players from northeastern Brazil, but it has accomplished players from other Brazilian regions as well. Originally the team was called Brave Birds, thus the mascot being the nostalgic Pidgeot (known for using the move in the game). However, as the name “Brave Birds” was quite common and overused in many teams, they decided to change it to Blazin Birds, keeping the mascot as a reminder of their origin. This is a strong team of decorated players representing the LATAM region with dominant performances every week.

Cold Love FTW:

Cold Love is a team compromised of battlers from all over the world, coming together to have fun in Battle Frontier. As a new team, the intended to impress with a 6-1 finish to secure first place in EMEA Open Pool 5. This group came together originally formed on Facebook, and then venturing out to discord just to stream gbl battles. From there, their discord and group of batters continued to grow dramatically.

Their discord and facebook groups continued to teach each-other and improve as battlers, so much so, that they were able to make a strong team for Battle Frontier. By their own admission they were surprised at how well they performed in their Pool, but with a team filled with accomplished leaderboard battlers and a wide depth of S6P3 experience as well, I can’t say I’m surprised they succeeded. I expect to see much more success to follow them in Battle Frontier moving forward in future Cycles too!
