TWO ROUNDS DOWN… PANIC YET?

So… How are some of y’all 0-2 teams feeling right now? For some of you (Sw1tchMstrz, Hoosier Daddies), there’s no panic yet and you’re reading this going “MJ it’s fine, we’ll be good by Round 5.” Then there’s some of you (Rock Paper Slark, Island Guardians Elite) where this is a new feeling for yourselves; starting a cycle 0-2 with tough losses going into must-win mode wayyyy earlier than expected… Panic may be creeping in, but you’ve still got time to dig out and make corrective plays to save/salvage your cycle. See, those four teams have slight, at worst mild, reasons to panic. Not the rest of you! Whether your on a 9-bout losing streak in your tier after an ass kicking that wasn’t expected, having back-to-back close losses in ways we’ve seen and starting to expect against certain teams, apathy is slowly setting in and it’s showing, or your 0-2 is a case of your best ain’t good enough but dammit all if you’re going to wave the white flag, it’s about time to panic! Not saying that teams that start 0-2 always get relegated, but unless y’all (I’ve looked at your next two weeks of opponents, what I’m about to say is extremely plausible for four of you) plan on getting with Cool Cats and asking them to give inside tips and seminars on how to go 0-4 to start a cycle and NOT get relegated (yea, four of you are looking at 0-4’s right in the eye), it’s time to wake up. 0-2’s tough enough to come back from if you want to shoot for promotion still (looking at the 0-2s in Premier/Elite Tier), but now’s the time for a sense of urgency… Or be complacent and drop, what do I know…

I’M THE BIGGEST HATER… I HATE THE WAY THAT…

YOU WALK: TexasPvP (how y’all stay finishing before EVERYONE ELSE!? No matter the opponent!), NorthEast Battlers, Team BTW, & Scizor Me Timburrs (why y’all have to show out like that when all other matches across the NA were close in Round 1), Inferno Overdrive (DAAAMN!), Cool Cats after Round 1 (I knew I shouldn’t have publicly endorsed y’all), Cool Cats after Round 2 (my mistake, y’all got it), Thunder Road (off to an electrifying start… I’ll stop now), Team BTW (ease up off them, guys)

YOU TALK: Sw1tchMstrz (an 11-10 loss after I say not just Cool Cats are winning the tier, but not even include them in the teams that could beat CC), Zuoken (drawing blood on XehrFelrose), Sharks & Rec (snapping a 5-match losing streak to Rock Paper Slark, now we have a rivalry!!) Deoxys Alberta Forme & Evanstonks (A TIE?!?!?!?)

YOU DRESS: Pioneer Valley PVP (oh so when I come back from a long hiatus to point out a weakness you guys have y’all just shut me up, hunh?), Eastcalibur (helping PVPVP prove me wrong), Scizor Me Timburrs (Y’all not an Open Tier team, so show out), Loudmouth53 (Sw1tchMstrz could’ve used you in Master League vs Monstars50), Acopalipse Team (…damn), Decidueye Dynasty Black (BraveNerds said y’all ain’t real birds)

LEGENDARY TIER: NEB: UDDER MADNESS VS SHARKS & RECREATION

LOOK AT WHO YA CAME TO SEE, THEY THEM SHARKS YOU BETTA BOW WHEN THEY STEP ON THE SCENE!!! I see ya Sharks & Recreation ending that losing streak while extending your record to 2-0 this cycle!! S&R sits tied for 1st place in Legendary. Their opponents this week can be seen as a “trap” team at the moment; NEB: UM was a trap that Elite TMS didn’t fall into the week before they played LU: Vanguard, but they did douse some milk on the Stars before they played ETMS (take note Inferno Overdrive & Rock Paper Slark). While S&R got a big emotional win last week that was six matchups in the making, NEB: UM’s current run & win last week was almost 3 years in the making. Up until last week, NEB: UM was 0-8 in the highest tier across Silph & Battle Frontier (yes, I’m counting stats from the Madison Miltanks days). I know, different teams so it shouldn’t matter, right? Eh, maybe? Like, we have to acknowledge that Madison merged with the NEB brand to get better, and those that stayed for the ride are seeing the fruits of their labor. They still have some work to do, and facing S&R will show us just how much more is needed before we can talk about Udder Madness in a World Championship context…

CHAMPION TIER: CANADIAN SHIELDON VS POGOATS

I mean do I need to explain this matchup? It’s Canadian Shieldon vs Pogoats. Longstanding powers in faction lore. One is a superteam formed from rivalries against The Body Slammers & Muddy Water. The other is a superteam of Canadian proportions (ignore the American on their team he’s past their test). The only true surprise would be if this match ends in a blowout, so hit me up when that happens.

ELITE TIER: ICY WIND VS PHOENIX RISING

At the bottom of Elite Tier is a battle for survival. It seems a bit extreme to say that, but this is a start of a three week stretch for BOTH teams where the loser could realistically spend the last  four weeks fighting for relegation positioning. Phoenix has their biggest rival in Hammer Heads next and SoCal SD after, while Icy Wind has to drive through Thunder Road before going into the triangle to play TNT.

EXPERT TIER: FEARSOME FROSLASS VS SW1TCHMSTRZ

Will the final score read 11-10 Fearsome Froslass for the win? The way the cycle’s gone for both teams it’s a probable outcome. Fearsome’s been winning their bouts 11-10 while Sw1tch’s losing them 11-10. The positive side for Sw1tch is they have the most possible points one can have through two bouts while not winning one. That seems like a slight until you look in Expert Tier and see the amount of 1-1 teams that either don’t have more points or are within three of them. A loss for Sw1tch isn’t detrimental, but whatever the reason has been for them dropping the last two matches by one point needs to be solved this round…

PREMIER TIER: PIONEER VALLEY PVP VS BAD MEWTWOS

“Their (D’Nair) weak spots aren’t as worrisome as some of the other teams in this tier either (can PVPVP carry ThxObama & Gortakem if they combine to get less than 4 points, is FletchinDErella going to play up to competition more consistently, will this be the cycle Eastcalibur puts it all together), but considering a good chunk of this tier got promoted “just cuz,” there’s no reason DDC shouldn’t threaten for a top 2 finish… Right?” -MJGettit, last article, before the first round of crow was served

Dear Bad Mewtwos,

MJGettit here. I’ma get straight to the point: I like you guys. I also like Pioneer Valley PVP. I’ve gone on record saying you guys will win Premier. Apparently, Pioneer Valley & D’Nair Don’t Care took offense to that by also having the nerve to be 2-0 along with you guys and scoring more points. I haven’t the slightest clue why. I stated facts that you guys were the best team in Premier. When have I ever been wrong (in the long run, that part’s important) about a team being better than the tier they’re in? Anywho… I need you guys to win this week. Dominate! Show the whole tier why a Mewtwo is all you need to flatten a valley! Good luck

PS: Might delete later
